Barber Collins security is looking for a full time Security Guard. Candidates will be working shifts in Kitchener - Waterloo, ON.
This is for an existing vacancy.
Shifts:
Must be able to commit to the assigned schedule consisting of:
- Either 8 to 12 hour shifts of days and nights. Must be available weekdays/weeknights, weekends and statutory holidays.
Responsibilities:
- Conducting mobile and foot patrols of clients facilities and assets.
- Required to perform concierge duties and responsibilities.
- Protect company’s property and staff by maintaining a safe and secure workplace.
- Take accurate notes of unusual occurrences.
- Monitor and control access at building entrances and vehicle gates.
- Watch alarm systems or video cameras and operate detecting/emergency equipment.
- Access control for the facility/area.
- Ensuring that the facility’s safety and emergency procedures are followed in response to site emergencies.
- Demonstrating judgement, common sense, and decision-making ability, particularly when required to take charge and direct others in emergencies or other incidents.
Skills:
- Valid Ontario Class G drivers license - must have own vehicle on reliable transportation.
- Valid First Aid/CPR Level C.
- Able to complete and pass mandatory use of force/handcuffing/baton training.
- Accredited Use of Force Training is required.
- Proven work experience as a security guard or relevant position.
- Trained Security Guard with a diploma in a related field.
- Ability to operate detecting systems and emergency equipment.
- Excellent knowledge of public safety and security procedures/protocols.
- Surveillance skills and detail orientation.
- Integrity and professionalism.
- Ability to operate security equipment/systems, computers, radios, phones.
- Meticulous record keeping, report writing, observation skills.
