Overview

The Locksmith installs, repairs, and maintains mechanical and electronic locks and related hardware, helping keep buildings, rooms, and secured areas accessible to authorized users. The role involves assessing lock and key issues, selecting practical solutions, and completing work carefully while respecting property and privacy.

Responsibilities

- Inspect locks, doors, and hardware to identify faults, wear, or security concerns.
- Install, repair, adjust, and maintain mechanical and electronic locking systems and related components.
- Cut, duplicate, and manage keys; rekey locks and support authorized access changes.
- Explain completed work and basic lock operation to customers or colleagues, and keep clear records of tasks and materials.

Qualifications

Required: Practical ability to use locksmith tools safely, diagnose common lock and hardware problems, follow instructions, and complete precise hands-on work. Transparent communication, sound judgment, and care for property support dependable service. Preferred: Related locksmith experience and familiarity with a range of lock types, key systems, and access hardware are advantageous; a helpful, customer-focused approach supports smooth service and clear explanations.

Pay: $18.00-$40.00 per hour
