Build the finance function you’d want to lead.

Artisan Roofing is seeking a Financial Controller to lead our finance function across four Atlantic Canadian locations. Working directly with the owner, you’ll help establish the reporting, controls and financial discipline that support our next stage of growth.

This role offers meaningful responsibility and room to build. You will assess how we work today, identify priorities and lead improvements in how we manage cash, understand project profitability and make business decisions.

You’ll lead the accounting team and work closely with operations. Success will require sound financial judgment and clear communication.

What you’ll take ownership of

- Cash visibility: Build dependable cash forecasts and strengthen collections oversight and payment planning.
- Project profitability: Improve job costing, work-in-progress reporting, and visibility into estimated, actual and committed costs.
- Financial reporting: Deliver accurate, timely month-end results with transparent explanations and recommendations.
- Controls and accountability: Establish practical purchasing approvals, spending controls and financial responsibilities.
- The accounting function: Lead receivables, payables, payroll oversight, reconciliations and compliance.
- Planning and decisions: Support budgeting, forecasting, pricing, financing, equipment purchases and hiring decisions.
- Systems and processes:



Improve how information moves between accounting and operations, with reconciliation and accuracy built in.
- Team development: Clarify responsibilities, build capability and help the accounting team work effectively.

You bring:

- Years of progressive accounting and finance experience, including leadership of a team or finance function.
- Experience in construction, contracting or another project-based business.
- Strong cash-flow forecasting, job-costing, financial-reporting and internal-control skills.
- Examples of improvements you personally led and the results they delivered.
- Strong Excel or Google Sheets skills and practical accounting-system experience.
- The ability to earn trust, explain financial information clearly and hold people accountable.
- A CPA designation is preferred; substantial relevant financial leadership experience will also be considered.
- Experience with owner-operated businesses and multiple locations is an asset.

Pay: $90,000.00-$120,000.00 per year
