The Position:
Reporting to the Field Operations Manager, the Site Superintendent is responsible for the overall management and supervision of on-site construction activities. This includes planning, coordination, safety enforcement, and ensuring the project is executed according to design, schedule, and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

Site Setup & Logistics

- Mobilize and demobilize the project site, including site security.
- Mark up site plans with gates, muster points, craning zones, temporary access, laydown areas, etc.
- Install site signage and notify neighbors of project start (courtesy cards).
- Open and close the job site daily.
- Coordinate temporary power, lighting, and heating.
- Monitor building climate control (temperature, humidity, air quality).

Construction Management

- Supervise total construction effort to ensure compliance with design, quality, and schedule.
- Plan and coordinate on-site functions including scheduling, engineering, purchasing, material control, and cost accounting.
- Monitor subcontractor efficiency, material/equipment usage, and contractual performance.
- Maintain project schedule and budget; report serious issues and implement corrective actions.
- Perform light construction duties as required.

Safety & Compliance

- Implement and manage Paragon’s Safety Program on-site.
- Ensure compliance with safety procedures and work rules.
- Document violations, recommend corrective actions, and enforce disciplinary measures.
- Lead daily safety huddles and maintain a clean, organized, and protected site.

Coordination & Communication

- Assist Project Manager in developing and implementing project procedures.




- Communicate regularly with the Project Manager regarding schedule and progress.
- Lead weekly trade meetings with 3–6 week lookahead planning.
- Attend weekly construction team meetings.
- Coordinate with PM for permits and inspections.
- Schedule and oversee third-party inspections and testing.

Documentation & Reporting

- Issue RFIs and update drawings with addendums, SIs, PCNs, COs on Procore.
- Maintain constraint log (whiteboard & Excel).
- Prepare Daily Superintendent Progress Reports and upload subcontractor logs to Procore.
- Provide monthly reports on schedule and QA/QC deficiencies.
- Maintain as-built drawings and identify/correct deficiencies.
- Prepare input for Monthly Status Reports.

Quality Assurance

- Review specifications, drawings, and contract documentation before work begins.
- Monitor construction techniques and ensure quality standards are met.
- Participate in system commissioning and expedite deficiency corrections.
- Coordinate testing by M&E; trades (e.g., ventilation, sprinkler, air balancing).

Team Leadership

- Approve hourly workers’ timecards and assign cost codes.
- Provide mentorship to staff and trades.
- Foster a respectful and positive work environment.
- Organize site lunches at project milestones.
