Chickadee Creative is recruiting on behalf of our client, Forest Path Preschool, a unique nature-based early learning program located in the Maritime Opportunity Centre on Saint John's west side.

Forest Path Preschool is seeking an enthusiastic, adaptable, and self-motivated full-time Early Learning & Operations Coordinator to join their team. This dynamic role combines direct work with children, program planning and delivery, family engagement, administration, and community outreach. Working closely with the Executive Director, you will play a key role in supporting the day-to-day operation and continued growth of this innovative early learning program.

At Forest Path Preschool, children ages 3-5 learn through hands-on experiences, meaningful relationships, and daily interactions with the natural world. Rooted in child-led learning and inspired by Montessori and Reggio Emilia approaches, the preschool fosters confidence, creativity, independence, and a lifelong love of learning.

What You'll Do

Early Childhood Education





- Support the planning and delivery of a nature- and play-based curriculum inspired by Montessori and Reggio Emilia philosophies.
- Foster a safe, engaging, and inclusive environment that encourages exploration and discovery.
- Actively supervise children and maintain both indoor and outdoor learning environments.
- Use positive and respectful behaviour guidance strategies.
- Communicate regularly with families regarding children's development, needs, and experiences.
- Assist with classroom setup, organization, and maintaining clean and welcoming program spaces.

Operations & Administration

- Coordinate enrolment and waitlist processes.
- Maintain clear and professional communication with families.
- Support day-to-day administrative functions and assist with program-related purchases and errands.
- Help ensure program operations run efficiently and effectively.

Community Outreach & Engagement

- Build and maintain relationships with community organizations, schools, family support agencies, newcomer-serving organizations, Indigenous communities, and early learning partners.
- Represent Forest Path Preschool at community events and networking opportunities.
- Support promotional initiatives, presentations, and community awareness activities.
- Create engaging content and manage the preschool's social media presence.

What We're Looking For

The ideal candidate is an experienced early childhood educator who is equally comfortable leading a nature walk, speaking with families, coordinating program operations, and building community partnerships.

Required Qualifications





- Diploma or Degree in Early Childhood Education.
- First Aid/CPR Level C certification.
- Experience working with young children in early learning settings.
- Robust communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and take initiative.
- Comfort working outdoors year-round in a variety of weather conditions.
- Ability to stand for extended periods, climb stairs, and safely lift program materials and equipment.
- Knowledge of New Brunswick Early Learning and Childcare licensing requirements and regulations.

Assets

- Experience with outdoor education.
- Knowledge of Montessori and/or Reggio Emilia approaches.
- Experience in program coordination, community engagement, or social media management.
- A passion for environmental stewardship and community-based learning.
