Railtown Catering is seeking a full time Canape Cook to join our team. As a chef-driven company, we are committed to crafting high-quality, scratch-made dishes that exceed expectations. Responsibilities:
- Prepping and assembling canapes according to recipes and customer requests
- Ensuring portion control and consistency in food presentation
- Assisting in the development and creation of recent dishes
- Ensuring all dishes meet the our quality standards
- Following food safety guidelines to prevent contamination
- Maintaining cleanliness of workstations and kitchen equipment
- Safely operating kitchen appliances and tools
- Monitoring ingredient inventory and reporting shortages to management
- Receiving and storing food supplies properly
- Minimizing food waste through proper storage and portioning techniques
- Organizing and prioritizing tasks during busy periods
- Collaborating with other cooks, servers, and kitchen staff to ensure smooth operations
- Communicating effectively with the head chef or kitchen manager about any issues
- Assisting other team members during high-demand periods
Candidate Requirements:
- Cooking school or one to two years of fine dining restaurant experience
- Must have your own knives
- Must have a valid Class 5 license to drive to off-site events. Vehicle is a plus but not a must
- Strong work ethic
- Positive attitude
- Willingness to learn
- Clean and organized
- Trustworthy and honest
- Food Safe Level 1 is mandatory
What We Offer:
- Hourly wage for prep work is $19 to $21 per hour
- Off-site event wage is approximately $32 per hour (this is hourly wage & tips combined)
