Sonographer (MSK) - On-Call | Calgary & Airdrie
Pay: $46.00 to $67.00/hr base, based on years of experience, plus skill set premiums. PLUS an extra $5.00/hr on-call premium on every hour you work.
Pureform Radiology is a specialized diagnostic imaging provider serving Calgary and Airdrie. We offer X-ray, Ultrasound, Mammography, Bone Density Testing, Pain Management, and Biopsies, and our PureKids division provides imaging designed for pediatric patients and their families. You’ll work alongside 14+ Radiologists across subspecialties including Musculoskeletal, Interventional Radiology, and Breast Imaging, with ongoing education, mentorship, and real room to grow.
About the role
We’re looking for an experienced Sonographer to join our on-call team, covering planned and last-minute shifts across our Crowfoot, Macleod Trail, South Trail, and Airdrie clinics. Full time or part-time, with 3 to 5 days of availability per week. Reports to the Ultrasound Manager. Travel between locations is required.
What you’ll do
- Perform diagnostic ultrasound exams (abdomen, pelvis, endovaginal, appendix, early dating OB, scrotum, thyroid, and lumps) per company protocols and professional standards
- Prepare exam rooms and equipment per infection control, sterilization, and patient safety protocols
- Communicate diagnostic results and preliminary findings clearly to Radiologists
- Maintain accurate, confidential patient records
- Cover on-call shifts, scheduled in advance or called in the morning of the shift
- Stay current on continuing education and sonography licensure
What you bring
- Graduate of a recognized Diagnostic Medical Sonography program
- Active Sonography Canada certification in good standing, with current professional liability insurance
- MSK certification and 1+ year of MSK experience
- 3+ years of sonography experience preferred
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills, comfortable in Windows-based programs
- Proficiency in English, as all work is conducted in English
- Reliable transportation between clinic locations
- Availability for on-call coverage, including morning call-ins
- Legally entitled to work in Canada
