Job Overview

Compass Energy Systems is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced accounting professional for a temporary, approximately six-month contract position to support the Corporate Controller and Finance team.

The successful candidate will assist with preparations for the annual financial statement audit while providing support with day-to-day accounting and finance activities. This position offers flexibility in scheduling and the opportunity to work remotely, with the option of full-time or part-time hours (a minimum of 24–32 hours per week).

This role will report directly to the Corporate Controller.

Responsibilities

- Review and reconcile general ledger (GL) accounts, including identifying and resolving aged or outstanding balances.
- Assist with the preparation of audit working papers and supporting documentation for the annual financial statement audit.
- Support the Finance team with job and purchase order (PO) closeout activities.
- Assist with the preparation and review of financial reports,



including income statements and balance sheets.
- Work collaboratively with members of the Finance team to support ongoing accounting activities and ensure accurate financial records.

Skills

- 2–4 years of experience in financial accounting or a related accounting role preferred.
- CPA designation or progress toward a CPA designation would be considered an asset.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with exceptional attention to detail.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and Word.
- Ability to work independently, manage priorities, and collaborate effectively with various members of the Finance team.
- Experience with Microsoft Dynamics NAV would be considered an asset

Pay: $60,400.00-$115,000.00 per year
