Ivo Surveys is a locally owned land surveying company serving Edmonton and surrounding communities. We handle legal, residential development, and construction surveys, with a robust focus on accuracy and practical solutions.

Technology is a central part of how we work. We use robotic total stations and GNSS, and we’re continually improving our processes. We welcome ideas from the people using them every day.

What You’ll Do

- Plan and complete field surveys using robotic total stations, GNSS, and levelling equipment.
- Search for, assess, and document legal survey evidence.
- Collect site measurements, perform boundary calculations, and complete residential and commercial construction layout.
- Keep clear field notes and organized digital records so the office team has what it needs to prepare plans.
- Review survey data and assist with calculations and plan preparation.
- Communicate professionally with landowners, contractors, and clients about site access, property questions, and construction requirements.
- Keep your assigned vehicle, equipment, and field supplies ready for work.
- Follow company health and safety procedures and identify site hazards.
- Contribute ideas to improve our equipment use, digital workflows, and field procedures.
- Travel occasionally within Alberta when required.

What You Bring

- A diploma in Geomatics, Civil Engineering Technology, or an equivalent qualification.




- At least three years of experience in legal and construction surveying.
- Confidence operating total stations, GNSS, and levelling instruments.
- Sound field judgment, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently.
- Comfort learning new technology and adapting to improved ways of working.
- Clear communication, accountability, and a professional approach to clients and colleagues.
- A valid Class 5 driver’s licence.
- Relevant safety certifications, or willingness to obtain them.
- MicroSurvey or AutoCAD experience is an asset.

Fieldwork Requirements

This role involves working outdoors in varying weather and site conditions. You must be able to walk extended distances over uneven terrain, lift and carry up to 50 lb, dig with a shovel or digging bar, operate a demolition hammer, and use a 12 lb sledgehammer to install survey markers.

Pay: $29.00-$45.00 per hour
