Job Posting – Senior Civil/Structural Checker (Contractor) Bluestar Engineering Ltd. is a Calgary-based EPCM company specializing in small to medium size upstream oil and gas projects. As a fully integrated multi-discipline organization, Bluestar offers a full spectrum of engineering services for identifying, planning, and executing capital projects and optimizing existing ones. We are seeking an experienced Senior Civil/Structural Checker to join our team on an independent contractor basis. This is a part time engagement requiring approximately 10–20 hours per week, depending on project requirements. Duties And Responsibilities
• Check 2D drawings such as Plot Plan, Pile Layout, Structural and Civil drawings, as well as check 3D CAD models and utilize Navisworks.
• Review overall Civil/Structural Layout while checking for design issues, clashes, etc., utilizing 3D model, Navisworks and piping GAs.
• Assess all vendor drawings to ensure their compliance with related project requirements and the 3D model.




• Checking of BOMs (bill of materials).
• Coordinate with Project Design Leads and CSA Designers to ensure clients needs are being met within project scope, schedule and budget. Requirements
• Engineering Technologist Diploma or equivalent is required.
• 7 + years of checking experience.
• 7 + years in an EPCM setting.
• Extensive knowledge in AutoCAD drafting software.
• Personable and able to work with a team in a multi-disciplinary environment.
• Proven ability to manage various projects and meet deadlines within project scope.
• Ability to adjust to change and multitask in a fast-paced setting.
