Owned by Maibec Inc., a Québec-based company, Maibec CanExel is a trusted leader in prefinished siding manufacturing. For more than 55 years, we have produced high-quality exterior siding products known for their durability and authentic appearance. Our East River facility employs approximately 180 team members and is conveniently located just one minute from Exit 7 on Highway 103, approximately 30 minutes from both Bayers Lake and Bridgewater

We are currently seeking a 3rd or 4th Year Apprentice Electrician to join our Maintenance team. This position is responsible for performing predictive and preventive electrical maintenance while supporting plant reliability, and continuous improvement initiatives.

COMPENSATION:

Hourly rates are based on apprenticeship level:

- 1st Year Apprentice: $31.33/hour
- 2nd Year Apprentice: $32.38/hour
- 3rd Year Apprentice: $34.44/hour
- 4th Year Apprentice: $36.08/hour
- Journeyperson Rate: $40.01/hour

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Perform preventive and predictive electrical maintenance activities.
- Support continuous improvement and reliability initiatives.
- Maintain and troubleshoot PLC systems.
- Maintain and troubleshoot 4160V systems (training provided).
- Diagnose and repair motor control centers (MCCs) and motors.
- Adhere to safe work practices and established trade standards.
- Assist in the training and development of apprentices and site personnel as appropriate.
- Actively participate in Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) programs.

QUALIFICATIONS:

- 3rd or 4th Year Apprentice Electrician with relevant industrial experience.



Red Seal electricians considered.
- Basic PLC knowledge.
- Robust electrical troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and schematics.
- Experience with HMI software considered an asset.
- Experience with VFDs considered an asset.
- Experience working with 4160V or other high-voltage systems considered an asset.
- Solid computer, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to understand and follow safety rules and procedures.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
