Job Overview

The Health Care Assistant (HCA) provides respectful, person-centred support with daily living, comfort, and wellbeing. The role may involve care in home, assisted living, nursing home, or hospice settings, supporting seniors and individuals with disabilities. You will work with patients and colleagues to help maintain dignity, safety, and familiar routines.

Duties

- Assist with personal care, mobility, and daily activities, including safe support with heavy lifting when appropriate.
- Help with meal preparation, cleaning, and maintaining a comfortable, tidy care environment.
- Support dementia care and hospice care with patience, compassion, and attention to individual needs.
- Follow care plans when assisting with medication administration and communicate relevant observations to the care team.

Experience

Required:



Practical patient care, caregiving, clear communication, and careful attention to safety and individual needs are important for supporting daily routines and wellbeing. Preferred: Assisted living, nursing home, senior care, hospice care, home care, dementia care, or experience working with individuals with disabilities can strengthen your contribution. Your impact: Consistent, thoughtful support helps patients feel safer and enables colleagues to coordinate care.

Pay: $18.25-$24.00 per hour

Expected hours: 20.0 – 60.0 per week
