At the Prince George Humane Society, we provide surrendered and stray animals with a safe, compassionate environment where they can rest, heal, and prepare for their forever homes. Our mission extends beyond the shelter walls: through volunteer opportunities, shelter tours, birthday parties, community outreach programs, and humane education initiatives, we engage with and actively support our community.
We are proud to maintain a dedicated network of foster families, providing a nurturing bridge for our animals on their journey to adoption. Our staff works closely to match adoptive families with the right pet, ensuring that each adoption is a joyful, lasting bond. By educating the public on animal welfare and behavioral understanding, we help create a compassionate, informed community, committed to making a positive impact in the lives of animals and people alike.
This full-time position is vital in providing compassionate care to animals in our shelter, working closely with the Operations Lead, staff, volunteers, fosters, and the community. The role involves engaging with the public, adopters, fosters, and volunteers to ensure each animal receives the highest standard of care while fostering positive experiences for everyone involved in our shelter's mission.

- Process donations and adoption fees.
- Assist with the intake process for strays and owner surrenders, ensuring required paperwork is completed accurately.
- Collaborate with shelter personnel and volunteers to maintain a high standard of care, instilling values of humane treatment, compassion, and teamwork, and supporting volunteer activities in a unified spirit.
- Coordinate with veterinary staff for animal appointments, preparing animals accordingly and performing final health checks at the end of each shift.
- Perform additional duties as needed to ensure smooth shelter operations and support the organization’s mission.
