Position Summary:

The Missions Director at Bayview Glen Church provides visionary leadership, strategic direction, and hands-on coordination for local and global missions initiatives. Working under the leadership of the Care and Missions Pastor, this role is responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing outreach strategies that reflect the love and truth of Jesus, both in our local community and globally.

This is a full-time leadership role for someone who is spiritually mature, highly organized, and passionate about mobilizing others to live on mission with excellence, compassion, and impact.

With a strong emphasis on project coordination, ministry support, and program development, the Missions Director equips teams, builds partnerships, and leads initiatives that engage the church in meaningful mission. A key component of this role includes the development and oversight of food security programs, addressing practical needs in the community while creating opportunities for gospel-centered engagement, dignity, and relationship.

- A strong leader who can recruit, equip, encourage, and care for volunteers and team leaders.

- A team-oriented team player with strong communication, administrative, and relational skills.

- Able to build and strengthen ministry systems, workflows, and structures that support sustainable mission engagement.





- Comfortable working with church staff, volunteers, community partners, and external organizations

- Familiar with food security, community outreach, and program development is an asset

Qualifications and Education

- 2+ years of experience in ministry leadership, volunteer coordination, non-profit work, community outreach, or a related field.

- Demonstrated experience recruiting, developing, and leading volunteer teams and ministry leaders.

- Experience in program development, implementation, evaluation, and management.

- Familiarity with digital tools such as Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, and church management systems.

- Understanding of Bayview Glen Church’s mission and values is an asset.

- Education in ministry, social services, community development, or a related field is preferred.

Primary Responsibilities

- Support the Care and Missions Pastor in planning and implementing short-term and long-term strategic objectives.

- Provide strategic leadership in the development and implementation of a comprehensive missions strategy, both locally and globally, aligned with the church’s mission, values, and priorities.

- Oversee all local outreach initiatives (e.g., food security programs, community partnerships), ensuring they are dignifying, effective, and aligned with the church’s vision for community impact.

- Lead Missions volunteer team leaders to ensure timely and effective execution of missions initiatives, healthy team culture, and strong volunteer care.

- Recruit, onboard, schedule, equip,



and provide ongoing support for Missions SERVE team volunteers.

- Develop and maintain systems, workflows, and documentation for ongoing ministry programs (e.g., volunteer onboarding, communication schedules, request tracking).

- Coordinate calendars, email communications, and templates to promote clarity, consistency, and smooth ministry operations.

- Build and maintain healthy relationships with local and global mission partners, community organizations, and external agencies.

- Manage onboarding, scheduling, and ongoing support of Missions SERVE Team volunteers.

- Collect and organize stories, feedback, and data to highlight ministry impact and support future planning.

- Collaborate closely with staff and leadership to ensure alignment across ministries and the integration of missions into the broader life and discipleship of the church.

- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of local outreach initiatives through feedback, data, and stories, using insights to improve programs and inform future planning.
