Key Responsibilities

Lead, manage, and mentor a remote team of insurance underwriters. Develop and implement underwriting policies, procedures, and guidelines to ensure profitable growth and risk management. Oversee the evaluation and acceptance of complex risks, making final decisions on challenging cases. Monitor underwriting performance, profitability, and adherence to guidelines. Analyze market trends, competitor activities, and emerging risks to inform underwriting strategy. Collaborate with product development, sales, and actuarial teams to ensure effective product launches and pricing. Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements and company standards. Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the underwriting function.



Develop and maintain strong relationships with key brokers and external stakeholders. Manage underwriting systems and tools to optimize efficiency and accuracy. Requirements

Minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in insurance underwriting, with at least 3 years in a management or supervisory role. Proven track record of successful underwriting decision-making and portfolio management. Strong leadership, team management, and mentoring skills. In-depth knowledge of underwriting principles, risk assessment, and insurance products. Excellent analytical, strategic thinking, and problem-solving abilities. Superior communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills. Proficiency in underwriting software, CRM systems, and data analysis tools. Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, or a related field is required; advanced degrees or relevant certifications (e.g., ACII) are highly valued.
