Job Description
The Design Systems / Applications Engineer will serve as the lead interface between the Chief Engineering team and the Product Release Center, primarily managing system interactions and interfaces between components and subsystems of driveline and EDM gearbox systems. The role reports to the Chief Engineer across multiple programs.

Key Responsibilities

- Responsible for the EDM gearbox hardware system, including integration and system balancing of all EDM gearbox components.
- Interface with individual Design Release Engineers (DREs), Centers of Excellence (COEs), manufacturing teams, suppliers, and the Development Validation Center (DVC).
- Schedule hardware system design reviews across the Product Release Center and review DRE design proposals as required.
- Organize reviews with the Virtual Analysis/CAE team and ensure the Virtual DVP/Scorecard is completed before prototype hardware orders.




- Manage driveline system and interface DFMEA/DRBFM team reviews to ensure transparency and cohesive design controls leading to robust DVP actions.
- Support the Chief Engineer (CE) and Assistant Chief Engineer (ACE) in developing FTE and ER&D;/ED&D; cost roll-ups for Minor/MCA/Current Programs.
- Review and approve change notices, ensuring checklists, lessons learned (LL), and EBPs are updated and aligned.
- Lead Technical Cost Reductions (TCRs) and Value Optimization (VO) initiatives in coordination with PRC, DVC, and VO teams.
- Represent the Chief Engineer in managing program lessons-learned documentation and ensure Technical Specialists (TS) receive timely updates to update EBPs accordingly.
- Review driveline system and applicable component validation completion status periodically with the DVC team and provide updates to the Chief Engineer.
- Coordinate DRBTR reviews, maintain follow-up items, and make decisions regarding GIMS issuance for identified problems.
- Manage CQI and GIMS cross-functional task force teams in coordination with the ACE, including prioritization, action plans, progress tracking, and updates to the initiatives list.
