The Family Nurse Practitioner (NP) is responsible for direct patient care at rural and remote health centers, via telehealth, in the patient’s home and other locations as determined by the practitioner/patient. The NP supports the primary care team’ s delivery of health promotion programs to individuals and groups in a variety of settings in the rural and/or remote area. The NP will deliver programs and services using a holistic model of care and practice in a culturally respectful and safe manner. Provides holistic, culturally informed health care to patients across the lifespan from within a primary care team that may consist of Elders, social workers, nurses, physicians, and allied health care professionals. Diagnoses and treats disorders and conditions within the statutory and regulatory standards, limits and conditions of BCCNM and CSFS policies and procedures. Monitors ongoing care, orders appropriate screening diagnostic investigations; Eligible for registration as a Nurse Practitioner with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM)

Placement within the wage range is dependent on the applicants’ role specific knowledge, skills, abilities, related experience and in consideration of factors such as market conditions and internal equity.
