About the Role
Our projects are diverse, with a strong focus on client-site roles supporting open-pit mining operations, including production geology, pitwall geology, geological mapping, sampling, and operational data collection. Our broader work also includes drill monitoring, geotechnical and civil engineering, environmental monitoring, site investigations, QA/QC construction monitoring, foundation inspections, and soil and concrete testing. We are currently hiring individuals with a Geoscience background for client-site roles supporting mining operations, with a particular focus on production and pitwall geology. Opportunities may also include drilling, geotechnical, environmental, heavy civil, and municipal projects.



Job Responsibilities Mining Geology and Geotechnical
• Production geology support in active open-pit mining environments
• Pitwall and geological face mapping, including identification and documentation of geological structures and conditions
• Ore and waste identification and field support for material classification
• Geological sampling and sample management
• Geological data collection, interpretation, entry, and quality control
• Support production tracking and reconciliation, and communicate geological observations to client operations teams
• Drill monitoring, geological logging, core description, and sampling
• Geotechnical investigations, sampling, and instrument installations Environmental
• Groundwater monitoring
• Pump testing
• Soil/surface-water sampling
• Environmental field programs Construction and QA/QC
• Soil, aggregate, and concrete testing
• Earthwork inspections
• Piling monitoring
• Construction quality assurance Project Delivery
• Technical reporting
• Data collection and interpretation
• Work closely with client geology, engineering, and operations teams while representing Terracon in a professional, collaborative manner




• Project scheduling and documentation What We Look For We are seeking individuals with:
• A degree or diploma in Geology, Earth Science, Geoscience, Geo-Environmental Science, or a related discipline; an equivalent combination of education and relevant field experience may also be considered
• Legal authorization to work in Canada
• A valid driver's license and a driver abstract in good standing
• Ability to perform physical field work and successfully complete a fitness-for-work test
• Ability to work in safety-sensitive environments and meet applicable drug and alcohol testing requirements
• A willingness to learn, share knowledge, grow professionally, and contribute to the business Additional Assets
• Experience in open-pit mining, production geology, pitwall geology, or another technical field-based geoscience role is an asset
• Proficiency in off-road 4x4 driving and winter conditions
• BSO/CSO, H2S and CCIL certification
• Eligibility for registration with APEGA or another applicable professional association is considered an asset Location & Work Environment
• Opportunities are primarily based in Fort McMurray
