Care for elderly patients at St. Joseph’s Healthcare Hamilton’s Satellite Health Facility, applying focused assessment and supportive nursing practice. This is regular part time work in Hamilton Downtown.

The Registered Practical Nurse supports patients with simple to complex medical issues while they await alternate care or rehabilitation. You will provide care through supportive, preventive, therapeutic, palliative, and rehabilitation means. Collaboration with Registered Nurses helps address changing acuity and client needs safely.

Key Responsibilities:

- Deliver nursing care that promotes health and optimal wellness
- Assess needs and provide treatment for health conditions
- Support elderly patients preparing for transition to other services
- Identify changing client acuity and complexity




- Coordinate next steps with Registered Nurses

Requirements:

- Current College of Nurses of Ontario registration
- Practical nursing diploma or certificate from an accredited college
- Required IV medication education and current BCLS/HCP
- Demonstrated expertise caring for seniors and their families
- Ability to prioritize, communicate, organize, and pursue learning

Use compassionate senior-care knowledge, nursing assessment, and rehabilitation-focused practice within the Satellite Health Facility interdisciplinary team.
