Lead bacteriology laboratory support at the Halifax Infirmary with Cerner Millennium skills and microbiology sample-processing experience. Nova Scotia Health offers this permanent full-time position.

As Senior Medical Laboratory Assistant, you will support PLM Microbiology’s Bacteriology division through technical guidance, quality practices, mentorship, and operational coordination. The work includes independent troubleshooting, patient safety, customer service, audits, and data collection. You will also support training, scheduling, and responses to changing workloads.

Key Responsibilities:

- Support Bacteriology pre- and post-analytical testing phases
- Mentor MLAs and provide technical expertise
- Coordinate training and changing operational resources




- Support supervisor scheduling and shift replacements
- Collect data and complete laboratory audits

Requirements:

- Successful CSMLS or CAMPLR examination completion
- Active Nova Scotia medical laboratory sciences licensure
- Proof of qualified liability insurance
- Three years of Medical Laboratory Assistant experience required
- Understanding of quality management and accreditation standards

Use bacteriology knowledge, Cerner Millennium experience, and sound judgment to support reliable laboratory operations in Halifax.
