The City of Barrie seeks a Municipal Law Enforcement Officer I for its Enforcement Services Branch. You will address animal control, signs, lottery licensing, yard maintenance, and business licensing matters. The position supports community health, safety, and well-being through education, negotiation, investigations, evidence collection, and court documentation.

Key Responsibilities:

- Enforce municipal by-laws and applicable provincial statutes
- Seek compliance through education, negotiation, and mediation
- Investigate complaints and collect witness statements and evidence
- Lay appropriate charges when compliance is not forthcoming




- Prepare documentation supporting prosecution through court processes

Requirements:

- Two-year college diploma in law enforcement or related discipline
- Municipal Law Enforcement Officer certification and association membership
- Two years performing related enforcement responsibilities
- Ontario Class G licence, positive record, and reliable vehicle
- Knowledge of Provincial Offences Act and municipal by-laws
