Manager, Restricted Funds Administration & Revenue Accounting

Acute Care Alberta is seeking an experienced, collaborative finance professional for the role of Manager, Restricted Funds Administration & Revenue Accounting. Reporting to the Director, Revenue, the Manager oversees restricted funds administration, as well as revenue accounting and reporting, across Acute Care Alberta, Emergency Health Services, Cancer Care Alberta, and Give Life Alberta.This role offers the prospect to lead a skilled finance team and advance financial stewardship in a complex public sector health care environment. Working closely with operational finance teams, program areas, senior leaders, auditors, government ministries, and other funders and stakeholders, the Manager delivers reliable financial reporting and insight that enable informed decision-making and help maximize the value of funding entrusted to the organization.

Description:

The Manager, Restricted Funds Administration & Revenue Accounting is accountable for ensuring that revenue is recognized and reported in accordance with Public Sector Accounting Standards (PSAS) and that restricted funds are administered in compliance with funding agreements, applicable legislation, and organizational policies.Key responsibilities include:Ensuring accurate, timely, and PSAS-compliant revenue accounting and reporting, including month-end, quarter-end, and year-end deliverables;Analyzing revenue, restricted fund activity, and financial variances to support decision-making and identify emerging issues;Providing technical guidance to Finance and operational areas on accounting treatment, funding requirements, and financial implications,



and collaborating to resolve accounting and funding issues;Establishing and monitoring processes and internal controls to safeguard restricted funds and support complete and accurate revenue reporting;Leading, coaching, and developing team members while allocating work effectively;Coordinating responses to funders, auditors, and internal stakeholders regarding revenue and restricted funding matters; andDriving initiatives to improve accounting practices, internal controls, reporting, and financial stewardship.
