Hiring: Azure Architect – Data Modernization & Cloud Migration On-Premises-to-Cloud Migration Experience

15+ Years Key Requirement: Strong On-Premises-to-Cloud Migration Experience We are looking for an experienced Azure Architect to join our client’s growing team in Canada. This is a fully remote opportunity available on a full time or contract basis, depending on candidate preference and engagement terms. Key Requirements
- 15+ years of overall IT experience, including at least 4 years implementing end-to-end, cloud-native data solutions.
- Strong expertise in designing and implementing modern data platforms using Microsoft Azure, Azure Databricks, and PySpark .
- Mandatory hands-on experience migrating on-premises data platforms to the cloud , including Spark/Hadoop-to-Databricks migrations.
- Expertise in modern data warehousing, BI, analytics, data ingestion, and data processing frameworks.
- Strong understanding of cloud-native architecture, data governance, cloud databases, and columnar database architectures.
- Experience with ETL/ELT tools, Azure Data Factory (ADF),



Kafka, and data pipeline orchestration.
- Experience building CI/CD pipelines for Databricks using Azure DevOps.
- Understanding of Agile/Scrum methodologies and data warehouse concepts.
- Ability to collaborate with Data Engineering, Data Management, BI, and Analytics teams.
- Knowledge of Data Mesh, Data Products, DataOps, and MLOps is an added advantage.

Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement scalable, secure, and cost-effective cloud-native data architectures on Azure.
- Lead data modernization initiatives and on-premises-to-cloud migration projects.
- Build and optimize data processing solutions using Azure Databricks, PySpark, and ADF.
- Develop CI/CD pipelines and establish best practices for data platform deployment.
- Lead architecture and data strategy discussions focused on scalability, performance, and flexibility.
- Collaborate with customers and engineering teams to deliver domain-specific data solutions.
- Establish DataOps and MLOps frameworks and develop training materials to upskill team members.
