Serving Campbell River and mid to northern Vancouver Island, we specialize in renovations, building envelope improvements, structural repairs, and construction projects of varying sizes and complexities. We are seeking a knowledgeable, detail-oriented, and motivated Construction Estimator to join our team. Position Overview Manage new construction opportunities from initial inquiry through site assessment, scope development, estimating, proposal preparation, and client approval. Prepare accurate, competitive estimates for residential and commercial projects, including larger contracts. This role combines office-based estimating, site visits, and client communication. All proposals require management approval before being issued.

Key Responsibilities

- Manage new project inquiries and estimating opportunities through client approval.
- Conduct site assessments, take measurements, and review drawings, specifications, and tender documents.
- Develop detailed scopes and cost estimates for labour, materials, equipment, subcontractors, and related expenses.
- Obtain and assess supplier and subcontractor quotations; identify gaps and pricing discrepancies.
- Prepare professional proposals with clear pricing, inclusions, exclusions, and allowances.
- Communicate with clients, present proposals, coordinate revisions, and follow up on outstanding opportunities.

- Prepare complete project handoffs for Project Managers
- Assist with major or complex change orders on active projects when requested.
- Maintain organized estimate records and proposal tracking using Buildertrend and Microsoft Office. Qualifications & Experience
- Solid hands-on construction background and knowledge of residential and commercial methods and materials.
- Experience preparing construction estimates, scopes of work, or project budgets.
- Ability to interpret drawings, specifications, and tender documents.
- Understanding of labour requirements, quantities, subcontractor pricing, and construction costs.
- Excellent analytical, mathematical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple estimates, deadlines, and client interactions independently.
- Valid driver’s licence. Preferred: Residential and commercial renovation estimating; carpentry, general contracting, or construction supervision background; knowledge of BC codes and permits; relevant estimating or trade certification.
