The Lab Technician is responsible for performing blood sample collection, process on lab machine, ensure proper patient ID and labelling, determine appropriate drawing method, maintain accurate records, organize documents, receive training in Andrology, maintain a clean work station, follow infection control standards, and fulfil assigned duties. Collect blood samples from patients. Process the sample on Laboratory machine as guidelines. Decipher the best method for drawing blood depending on the specific patient. Keep accurate records on fluid specimens and tests. To be trained on Andrology (Semen analysis, sperm wash.etc.). Keep the phlebotomy cart and station well-organized at all times. Practice infection control standards while working with patients and equipment at all times.



Diploma in Medical Laboratory Technology or equivalent Current registration with MLPAO (Medical Laboratory Professionals Association of Ontario) in positive standing Minimum of 1 year of Laboratory experience specific to phlebotomy techniques Adaptable and flexible; Experience with effective puncture techniques Knowledge of legal requirements about drawing blood, handling fluid samples and use of relevant medical equipment and material This role requires the ability to rotate at all of our clinic locations in Oakville, Etobicoke and Brampton.
