- Downtown Vancouver Shopping Mall Posted Monday, 10/26/2026 Title: Security Guard Employment Type: Full time (On-call status with full-time hours provided) Pay Rate: $24.00 per hour Site: Downtown Vancouver Shopping Mall Schedule: 5 days per week (Sunday to Saturday), Graveyards (0000–0800) OR Mornings and Afternoons Site Overview Located in the heart of Downtown Vancouver, this high-profile retail shopping centre is a active community hub. Security guards on this site maintain a high-visibility presence, working in a fast-paced environment that involves daily public interaction, tenant support, and proactive safety management. As a Security Guard at this site, you will be responsible for maintaining safety, supporting visitors, and managing real-time security situations. Conducting regular foot patrols across the property, walking between 20,000 and 30,000 steps per shift. Interacting professionally with members of the public, site tenants, clients, and emergency services. Enforcing site rules and property bylaws, including carrying out evictions when necessary. Monitoring CCTV feeds and maintaining clear communication over two-way radio. Writing clear, thorough incident reports.



Working closely alongside local law enforcement during real-time police incidents. Valid BC Security Worker License. 6 months to 1 year of security or customer service experience. Strong verbal and written communication skills, including reliable report writing. Physical ability to walk 20,000 to 30,000 steps during an 8-hour shift. Legal authorization to work in Canada. Advanced Security Training (AST) certification. Previous customer service experience in Downtown Vancouver. Full-time hours provided. Annual performance-based compensation. Direct experience working alongside local police.
