Bring operating room scrub skills and BCLS certification to Halton Healthcare as a permanent part-time Registered Practical Nurse.
Working within OT OR APU, this RPN supports surgical patients in a variety of operating room services. The role includes scrub nurse and perioperative responsibilities, patient advocacy, and collaboration within an interprofessional team. Candidates must prioritize assignments, respond appropriately during emergencies, and maintain practice aligned with College of Nurses of Ontario, AORN, ORNAC, and Halton Healthcare standards. Rotating Monday-to-Sunday shifts include days, evenings, and on-call requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Use the nursing process when providing surgical patient care
- Complete scrub nurse duties across operating room services
- Prioritize assignments according to Operating Room standards
- Respond appropriately during emergency situations
- Provide and receive constructive feedback within the team
Requirements:
- Minimum two years' perioperative scrub experience across wide-ranging services
- Current BCLS certification required at time of hire
- Current College of Nurses of Ontario registration required
- Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Physical ability for heavy lifting and intensive effort
