About the Role

A renowned gymnastics academy in Kimberley is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Elite Gymnastics Coach. This position involves coaching athletes with the potential for national and international competition, focusing on developing their technical skills, strength, flexibility, and competitive mindset. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of gymnastics disciplines, advanced coaching methodologies, and a proven history of success in developing elite athletes. You will work within a supportive and state-of-the-art facility, contributing to the continued success and reputation of the academy in the Northern Cape .

Key Responsibilities

- Design and implement advanced training programs for elite gymnasts across various age groups and disciplines.
- Coach gymnasts through complex skills, routines, and competition strategies.
- Monitor athlete progress, providing constructive feedback and personalized guidance to enhance performance.
- Ensure the safety of all athletes during training sessions, implementing proper spotting techniques and conditioning protocols.
- Collaborate with parents, other coaches, and sports scientists to support athlete development holistically.
- Stay current with the latest trends, techniques, and rules in competitive gymnastics.
- Identify and recruit talented gymnasts for the elite program.
- Plan and manage athlete participation in national and international competitions.




- Maintain detailed training records and performance evaluations for each athlete.
- Foster a positive, disciplined, and encouraging training workplace.

Requirements

- Minimum of 5 years of coaching experience at an elite or high-performance level in gymnastics.
- Recognized coaching certifications from a national or international gymnastics federation (e.g., FIG, SA Gymnastics Federation).
- In-depth knowledge of gymnastics principles, biomechanics, and strength & conditioning for gymnasts.
- Proven track record of coaching athletes to national and international levels of competition.
- Excellent communication, motivational, and leadership skills.
- Ability to work effectively with athletes, parents, and colleagues.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail in program planning and athlete management.
- Passion for gymnastics and commitment to athlete welfare and development.
- First Aid and CPR certification.
