Build database systems with Grafana Labs using distributed systems and Go, C++, or Rust from a remote US or Canada location. Shape an early-stage platform for enterprise data. As a Senior Software (Database) Engineer, you will build storage for a general-purpose data platform with OLAP and OTLP capabilities. You will design systems using compute-storage separation across cloud providers. The work includes ingestion, query planning, distributed execution, and storage formats. You will also help develop a multi-tenant SaaS foundation and agent-facing retrieval interfaces.

Key Responsibilities

Design and operate database ingestion, queries, and storage components Build tenant isolation, quotas, usage tracking, and audit logs Create APIs for agents, MCP tools, CLIs,



and applications Instrument services with metrics, logs, traces, and alerts Shape architecture, service boundaries, and deployment patterns

Requirements:

Production experience building user-facing software systems Experience with distributed systems, query engines, and data formats Mastery of Golang, C++, or Rust Experience delivering software actively used by customers Cloud-native and observability tools experience Bring database engineering, distributed systems, and pragmatic architecture skills to Grafana Labs’ evolving data platform.
