Design scalable data infrastructure in Toronto with Okta, using distributed systems and streaming technologies to support analytics and machine learning. As a Senior Software Reliability Engineer, you will build foundational services within Okta’s Data Platform organization. The position focuses on high-volume, low-latency distributed data-platform services and products. You will design, deploy, optimize, and own streaming infrastructure using technologies including Kinesis, Flink, Elasticsearch, and Snowflake.

Key Responsibilities

Design scalable, high-performance data platform components Collaborate with engineers, architects, and cross-functional partners Conduct design reviews, code reviews,



and performance tuning Coach and mentor engineers across the organization Debug production issues and participate in incident management

Requirements:

Three or more years of industry experience Two or more years using object-oriented languages, preferably Java Experience with Kinesis, Kafka, Flink, Spark, Beam, or Snowflake Understanding of multithreading, garbage collection, and memory management Experience with data quality, observability, and incident management Apply your reliability engineering expertise to Okta’s data platform, streaming infrastructure, distributed systems, and machine learning foundation.
