Set technical direction at ChargeLab in Etobicoke, focusing on distributed systems, architecture, and software delivery through a hybrid work model. As a Staff Engineer on the Engineering Scale track, you will shape patterns, frameworks, and specialist depth across ChargeLab. You will influence architecture without direct authority, partnering with Product and customer-facing teams on technically sound plans. The work supports ChargeLab’s EV charging software platform, open APIs, and charging station management system.

Key Responsibilities

Own specialist-domain architecture, patterns,



and reusable frameworks Simplify complex systems through explicit architectural seams Build and validate the hardest technical system components Lead Architecture Working Group agendas and roadmaps Mentor engineers and raise engineering quality through standards

Requirements:

Extensive Senior or Staff-level engineering experience Complex systems architecture and delivery experience at scale Deep expertise in distributed, event-driven systems Hands-on technical depth and strong engineering judgment Excellent communication and cross-team influence without authority Apply your architecture, distributed systems, and technical influence expertise to ChargeLab’s EV charging software platform.
