Requisition ID:98555Job Category: Procurement Location: Calgary, AB, Canada Hatch is seeking Contracts Specialists for its offices in Mississauga and Calgary for upcoming projects. The ideal candidate should have management and negotiation skills with extensive experience in an EPCM project environment on capital projects specifically in the award and administration of construction and services contracts.

The Contract Specialist will be part of a team focused on the management of construction and service contracts and will make a significant contribution to the completion of the project. Primary Responsibilities Supports the project procurement efforts in the selection of suppliers, fabricators, and the award of construction and service contracts. Liaison with Package Coordinator to obtain and verify technical specifications, with the Planner to verify lead times and delivery dates, and with Logistics to assure cost‑effective and practical on‑site dates. Controls contractual change relating to cost and time. Monitors program scope, cost, and time and attends progress meetings. Manages claim administration, payment certification, and cash‑flow forecasting. Develops, processes, and implements contractual documents and change notices in a timely manner. Administrates contracts in accordance with general requirements of contractual terms and conditions. Maintains various contract registers as per project instructions. Manages securities/guarantees. Handles contract close‑out. RequirementsBA/BS degree in a related field.10+ years of experience in procurement as a Buyer/Contract Administrator of construction and service contracts. Experience drafting and executing commercial terms and conditions and understanding of accompanying legal implications. Strong negotiation skills with an understanding of contracting strategies and implementation. Experience working on large construction sites. Excellent understanding of procurement and corporate governance principles.

Strong organizational skills and multitasking ability. Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Power Point). Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
