Lead complex mine plant layouts with 3D CAD design, calculations, and technical documentation as an intermediate mechanical layout designer at BBA. This regular position supports mining projects. Within BBA’s Mechanical Engineering team, you will prepare models, drawings, and technical documents for mining projects. You will contribute to mechanical engineering work, coordinate designs, and maintain service relationships with colleagues and clients. The position includes project execution, site work, and mentoring responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities
Lead mine plant layout design and perform complex calculations Design tanks, sheet-metal work, chutes,
and mechanical layouts Perform clash detection and point-cloud modelling Interpret PFDs and P&IDs; and coordinate vendors Mentor junior designers and coordinate drafting, schedules, budgets
Requirements:
Mechanical engineering technology diploma or equivalent Eight to fifteen years’ relevant mechanical layout experience Mine process plant mechanical design experience Large multidisciplinary EPC or EPCM project experience Ability to travel, perform site work, and hold a driver’s licence Apply mechanical layout, 3D CAD, and coordination expertise to BBA mining projects involving complex designs and multidisciplinary execution.
