Senior Web Designer — Loop: Design for Social Good
Full-time, permanent · Work from home
Experience: 2 - 3 years required
Applicants must live within the City of Toronto.
About Loop:
Loop: Design for Social Good is a Toronto-based design and growth studio. Since 2012, we’ve helped nonprofits explain their work, build trust, and gain support through websites, donation experiences, and digital communications.
The role:
We’re looking for a senior web designer with strong visual design skills, agency experience, and a track record of designing for nonprofits. You’ll turn briefs, content, and brand direction into distinctive, accessible websites, taking ownership from early concepts through developer handoff and launch. You’ll use AI as part of your design process to explore ideas, refine content, and develop your work, applying your own creative judgment to the results.
What you'll do:
- Design responsive websites and landing pages in Figma that support donations, access to services, and audience engagement.
- Build reusable components and design systems, and prepare clear developer handoffs.
- Create original graphics, campaign visuals, and brand applications for websites and digital communications.
- Present design recommendations, work through feedback, and review finished websites for quality.
What you'll bring:
- A strong portfolio of website design work, with thoughtful mobile layouts, typography, imagery, and brand application.
- Agency or studio experience delivering client websites, managing feedback, and working within project scope and timelines. Your portfolio includes nonprofit work.
- Proficiency in the Adobe Creative Cloud suite and Figma tools, including components, responsive layouts, and prototyping.
- Proficiency in AI tools such as ChatGPT (Codex) or Claude Design, with practical experience using them in your design workflow.
- Clear communication, sound design judgment, and the ability to own your work while collaborating with others.
- A suitable home workspace in Toronto, reliable internet, and availability for regular team collaboration.
Bonus points:
- A background in graphic design, branding, or visual identity.
- Illustration or motion design skills that bring websites and campaigns to life.
- Experience designing donation journeys or fundraising campaigns.
- Experience applying accessibility best practices to website design.
A design-focused role:
No coding or development experience is required. You’ll focus on design and collaborate with developers who build the websites.
Working at Loop:
You’ll report to the Head of Growth and collaborate with designers, developers, project managers, and account managers. The growth team leads strategy and analytics; you’ll translate that direction into strong visual and interface design. Our remote team works flexible hours with regular daily overlap.
What we offer:
- Meaningful work supporting nonprofits and social-valuable organizations.
- A company-funded Health Care Spending Account, subject to eligibility and coverage terms.
- Paid vacation, additional paid December studio shutdown days, paid sick and personal days, and paid public holidays.
- Work from home, flexible hours, and opportunities to learn and share ideas.
How to apply:
Include your résumé, portfolio, and a brief note about your interest in Loop. Highlight nonprofit website work, explain your contribution to agency projects, and confirm that you live within the City of Toronto.
