Build Java and Spring Boot services for Akamai EdgeWorkers while improving user experiences across web, media, and distributed edge systems remotely.

As a Software Engineer II, you will contribute to Akamai’s flagship serverless offering, EdgeWorkers. You will learn distributed systems, shape user-focused decisions with product managers, and advance web performance acceleration through reliable software. The work spans Angular, TypeScript, Java, and Spring Boot across UI, CLI, and API experiences.

Key Responsibilities:

Advocate for positive experiences across UI, CLI, and API

Participate in code reviews and provide technical feedback

Investigate production issues and implement long-term solutions





Contribute to development and deployment pipeline best practices

Foster collaboration across the team

Requirements:

Two years of experience and a relevant bachelor’s degree

Proficiency in Angular, TypeScript, Java, and Spring Boot

Write testable code with unit and integration tests

Debug distributed Linux systems, microservices, and containers

Communicate with technical and non-technical collaborators

Apply distributed systems, Java, and user-first engineering skills to strengthen Akamai EdgeWorkers from a remote Ottawa position.
