About Us: James Bay Inn Hotel

Established in 1911, the historic James Bay Inn Hotel & Suites is one of Victoria’s most cherished landmarks. Located in the quiet, picturesque James Bay neighborhood—just steps from Beacon Hill Park and the Inner Harbour—our full-service property combines charm, warmth, and a welcoming, community-focused workplace. Operating both a lively, classic pub and an Art Deco restaurant, our kitchen stays busy serving hearty, high-quality meals to both long-time locals and travelers from around the world.

We are currently looking for a team member that is dependable and has a minimum 2 years experience as Evening Front Line Cook to join our dedicated culinary team. If you thrive in a quick-paced kitchen, take pride in food quality and consistency, and bring a strong work ethic to every shift, we’d love to have you cook with us at the James Bay Inn!

Duties and Responsibilities
Solid experience cooking with flat tops, grills, stoves, ovens and deep fryers.
Ability to work in a quick paced environment
Prepare food items by cutting,



chopping and mixing
Follow recipes
Operate equipment properly and safely
Follow Recipes and the James Bay Inn Standards
Handle, store and rotate products properly
Receive and put away orders
Reliable and trustworthy to open the kitchen in the mornings.
Work well in a team and independently
Maintain a clean and organized work environment
Follow all JBI, city, provincial and federal safety protocols
Maintain the quality of each dish while ensuring a speedy output
Other duties as assigned by the Chef
