The Financial Accountant provides expert advice on complex corporate accounting and financial issues across the government reporting entity. Reporting to the Director, Financial Accounting, this permanent full-time position manages pension accounting files, supports senior management, and consults with departments, entities, and actuaries. The work focuses on accurate financial reporting, employee benefits, and practical solutions.

Key Responsibilities:
Manage pension, retirement, and employee perks accounting files
Advise senior management on complex pension accounting matters
Prepare actuarial assumptions, scenarios, presentations,



and correspondence
Research and implement Canadian public sector accounting standards
Prepare consolidated and unconsolidated financial statements

Requirements:
Professional accounting designation or equivalent
Several years of related accounting experience
Experience accounting for pensions and retirement advantages
Solid Canadian public sector standards knowledge
SAP, Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint experience
