Join the Correctional Service of Canada (CSC) and make a meaningful impact. As part of our team, you will help prepare and serve meals while supporting offender rehabilitation by providing valuable workplace training and employment skills development.

Competitive Compensation: Earn $26.12 to $28.39/hour, in addition to annual allowances such as a $2,140 Correctional Service Specific Duty Allowance (CSSDA) and an Inmate Training Differential.

Key duties:
Prepare ingredients and assist with meal production.
Prepare breakfast items, sandwiches, and other short-order meals.
Prepare special meals for both religious and therapeutic diet.
Receive, store, and distribute food supplies.
Maintain kitchen cleanliness, inventory, and storage areas.
Support the provision and distribution of rations for the SGMP (Small Group Meal Preparation) program, where inmates prepare meals independently.
Train offender workers in food preparation, food safety, and workplace practices.
Follow all food safety, security, and fire prevention procedures.

What we’re looking for:
Experience in a commercial or institutional food service environment.




Experience with food preparation, meal service, or short-order cooking.

Effective oral and written communication skills
Possession of a valid recognized Secure Food Handling Program certification is a plus.
