Overview

Reporting to the Project Manager, the Project Coordinator keeps projects on track from pre-construction through to delivery. The Project Coordinator will prepare permits, budgets and tender documents, manage RFQs, RFIs and submittals, and serve as a key contact for trades, suppliers, consultants and municipal staff.

Reponsibilities
Prepare permit applications, construction documents, budgets and technical plans that meet project requirements and specifications
Manage Requests for Quotation (RFQs), Requests for Information (RFIs) and submittals
Determine project and trade scopes and prepare pre-construction schedules
Prepare tender documents and contracts for trades, suppliers and consulting and engineering firms
Keep vendors and other project partners up to date on project information and timelines
Monitor day-to-day project activity to ensure work follows standard processes and procedures
Build and maintain strong working relationships with municipal staff and trades

Experience and Qualifications
Minimum 1 year of experience working on small to medium-sized construction projects as a general contractor or subcontractor




Multi-family experience is considered an asset
Prior experience in project coordination, site supervision or estimating is preferred
A degree or diploma in engineering, project management or an equivalent field is required
A solid understanding of the construction process, including permits, tendering, RFIs and submittals
Transparent, concise writing skills and the ability to communicate with trades, suppliers and the public with tact
Ability to make sound decisions under tight deadlines, even when information is incomplete
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint
Valid driver’s licence and access to a reliable vehicle
Satisfactory criminal record check required
