About the Role
We're looking for a hands-on AWS engineer who can design, build, and ship serverless and containerized API solutions, and who is comfortable applying up-to-date AI tooling in day-to-day development. You'll architect AWS solutions end to end, write production Node.js/TypeScript services, and manage infrastructure as code.

Responsibilities
Design and architect scalable, secure AWS solutions
Build and maintain APIs and services using Lambda, ECS Fargate, API Gateway, and DynamoDB
Manage configuration and secrets with Systems Manager Parameter Store and Secrets Manager
Implement least-privilege access and security best practices with IAM
Define and deploy infrastructure as code for APIs and services
Integrate AI capabilities into applications and workflows (LLMs, prompts, vector search, MCP)
Collaborate with the team in Jira and Confluence, and document designs and APIs

Required Skills
AWS (must be proficient): Lambda, ECS Fargate, API Gateway, DynamoDB,



Systems Manager Parameter Store, Secrets Manager, IAM
Languages: Node.js, JavaScript, TypeScript
Infrastructure as code for APIs and services (e.g., CloudFormation, CDK, Terraform, or SAM)
Proven ability to design and architect AWS solutions
AI: Hands-on experience with GitHub Copilot, Model Context Protocol (MCP), vector databases/embeddings, LLMs, and prompt engineering

Tools
VS Code, Jira, Confluence, Postman, GitHub Copilot, MCP

Qualifications
5+ years of experience building on AWS
5+ years of Node.js/TypeScript development
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience
AWS certification (Solutions Architect or Developer) is a plus

Pay: From $60.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40.0 per week

Work Location: Hybrid remote in Toronto, ON (Toronto District)
