Skylark Counselling Clinic is looking for a reliable and resourceful handyman or maintenance technician to assist with occasional repairs and maintenance at our Vancouver office.
We are seeking someone with strong general handyman skills and practical electrical troubleshooting experience. A recurring maintenance need involves our electronic door-lock system, so experience assessing minor issues involving batteries, wiring, alignment and door hardware would be particularly helpful.
Potential responsibilities include:
Troubleshooting electronic door locks and access hardware
Replacing batteries and identifying minor wiring or alignment issues
Completing small repairs involving doors, locks, handles and fixtures
Assisting with other general maintenance and handyman projects
Identifying when a repair requires a licensed electrician or specialized contractor
Communicating clearly about the issue, recommended solution and anticipated cost
The ideal candidate:
Has experience with general building maintenance or handyman work
Has practical electrical troubleshooting experience
Is dependable, resourceful and comfortable working independently
Uses valuable judgment and takes a solutions-oriented approach
Has their own basic tools and reliable transportation
Is comfortable working in a quiet, skilled healthcare workplace
Electrical certification is an asset but is not required for minor troubleshooting and maintenance work.
This is a casual, ongoing contractor relationship rather than a regularly scheduled position. Work will be arranged as maintenance needs arise, generally approximately once per month. The selected contractor’s information may also be included on the clinic’s internal maintenance contact list.
Pay: $100.00 per hour
Work Location: In person
