This regular part-time professor appointment covers AMM5119, Fracture Mechanics, in the Faculty of Engineering. Instruction addresses energy conditions, crack arrest, plane strain and plane stress behavior, microscopic crack propagation, and temperature effects. The course is taught in English on Tuesdays from 19:00 to 22:00 at Main Campus.
Key Responsibilities:
- Teach AMM5119 Fracture Mechanics to enrolled students
- Explain energy conditions and crack resistance
- Discuss compliance, the J-integral, and crack arrest
- Present plane strain and plane stress behavior
- Teach microscopic crack propagation and temperature effects
Requirements:
- PhD in Mechanical Engineering with materials specialization
- Materials science and manufacturing experience
- Mechanical engineering background
- Skilled engineer licensing or eligibility in Canada
- Passive second-language competence
Use your mechanical engineering and materials specialization to deliver rigorous English-language fracture mechanics instruction at the University of Ottawa.
