Job Overview Wawatay Inn is looking for a Cook to join our friendly and supportive kitchen team. This role focuses on preparing buffet style meals and helping create a welcoming dining experience for our guests. Our kitchen is steady and organized, not high pressure, making this position a great fit for someone with a year or more of experience who wants to continue developing their skills. Duties
- Prepare and cook buffet style meals
- Assist with basic food prep such as chopping and assembling ingredients
- Maintain a clean and organized kitchen workspace
- Follow safe food handling and sanitation standards
- Restock supplies to support smooth daily operations
- Work collaboratively with other kitchen staff
- Support general kitchen tasks as needed Requirements
- One year or more of cooking or kitchen experience
- Basic understanding of food safety or willingness to learn
- Comfortable with preparing meals without strict or standardized recipes
- Reliable, positive and team oriented
- Able to maintain cleanliness and secure habits in the kitchen
- Flexibility for daytime or occasional weekend shifts
- Food safety certification is an asset but not required, training can be provided
