Part time After-School Educator / Child Care Teacher Bloom in Bedford Learning Center – Bedford, NS Make afternoons meaningful, active, and fun Bloom in Bedford Learning Center is looking for an enthusiastic, energetic, and caring part-time after-school educator to join our team At Bloom, we provide an active, fun, and nature-based environment where children can explore, create, and learn through play. Our afternoons include daily walks, outdoor adventures, creative activities, and opportunities for children to build friendships and develop new skills. Responsibilities
- Plan and lead engaging activities, including arts and crafts, creative projects, games, and group activities.
- Encourage outdoor play, nature exploration, and active learning.
- Accompany children on daily walks between school and our program.
- Build positive relationships with children and support their social and emotional development.
- Promote positive behaviour and maintain a safe, welcoming environment.
- Work collaboratively with the team to create enjoyable and meaningful afternoons.
- Participate in full-day camps on scheduled professional development (PD) days throughout the school year. Qualifications
- Energetic, creative, and enthusiastic about working with children.




- Confident in guiding a group of children and supporting positive behaviour.
- Patient, dependable, organized, and proactive.
- Comfortable with daily walks and outdoor play in various weather conditions. Position Details
- Hours: Monday to Friday, 2:00 p.m. – 5:30 p.m. on scheduled school days.
- Additional hours: Full-day PD camps during the school year, as scheduled. The successful applicant must be available to work at least one of these full-day PD camps during the term.
- Environment: A combination of indoor activities, outdoor play, and supervised walks.
- Applicants must meet all required screening requirements, including criminal record/vulnerable sector checks and a child abuse registry check.
