L’UniThéâtre seeks a Technical Director to oversee technical aspects of productions and manage theatre rentals. The role supports French-language programming at La Cité francophone. Responsibilities span production planning, staffing, budgeting, equipment, safety, and performance operations across the 196-seat venue, Studio Yolande Proulx, and carpentry workshop.

Key Responsibilities:

- Develop technical concepts, equipment needs, staffing, and production schedules
- Manage technical aspects of the Festival théâtre jeunesse de l’Alberta
- Hire, supervise, train, support, and evaluate production staff
- Oversee safe load-ins, load-outs, performances,



and theatre rentals
- Maintain facilities, tools, equipment, and secure working environments

Requirements:

- Minimum three years’ Technical Director or related experience
- Knowledge of production techniques and staging principles
- Experience with AutoCAD, ETC consoles, and digital audio mixers
- Superior management and staff motivation experience
- Evening and weekend availability; First Aid and bilingualism assets
