This position is for a Point of Care Testing Specialist for UNC Medical Center, Hillsborough Hospital and multiple clinics. Hours are typically Monday - Friday 8a-4:30p with rotating weekly on-call coverage for the Intrauterine Transfusion procedures (which may occur on a weekend). Requires flexibility in schedules as procedures and/or training schedules may require early or late starts. Position requires travel to Hillsborough, Butner, and clinics throughout the Triangle region. Applicants should enjoy training and interaction with clinical staff and have familiarity with CAP standards.ResponsibilitiesCollects and analyzes data to evaluate products, procedures, processes and laboratory or program needs.Consults with healthcare providers and professionals regarding patient care and program issues.Ensures compliance with regulatory guidelines. Establishes and reviews procedures and policies.May monitor personnel performance, counsel employees and provide input into performance evaluations.May provide input into budgetary process by identifying capital equipment needs and anticipating laboratory or program needs.May teach Clinical Laboratory Science students, Pathology residents and fellows and current employeesMonitors daily operation of laboratory or programReviews patient testing results, quality control, maintenance,
