Psychiatric Liaison Nurses provide mental health assessment and crisis intervention at Health Sciences Centre in Winnipeg, working in person across wide-ranging shifts.

Shared Health seeks a Psychiatric Liaison Nurse for the Emergency team and Mental Health Reassessment and Observation Unit. This clinical position supports patients and families experiencing stress or crisis. It provides consultation to patients primarily assigned to Emergency Department nurses while applying psychiatric assessment and care planning.

Key Responsibilities:
Assess mental health needs within Emergency and observation settings
Conduct suicide risk assessments and develop care plans
Provide crisis intervention, mental healthcare, and evaluation




Support patients and families experiencing stress or crisis
Consult with Emergency Department nurses and interdisciplinary teams

Requirements:
Minimum three years recent acute mental health experience
Approved nursing or psychiatric nursing program graduate
CRNM or CRPNM registration required
Competence in psychiatric assessment and therapeutic communication
Effective collaboration, teaching, critical thinking, and computer skills
