GFL Environmental is looking for a Laboratory Technician to support our Commercial lines of business out of our Bowmanville site.Key Responsibilities:Provide technical assistance to Customers via site visits, sampling and assisting with the classification of waste materialsPerform general laboratory and housekeeping duties including report analysis results and coordination with production personnelAssist with discrepancies of incoming and outgoing materialsOperate vehicles and equipment in a secure and proper manner in accordance to GFL Environmental Inc. transportation standard operating procedures, and government regulationsPerform lab packing and de-packing dutiesComplete all necessary paperwork to complete job including acquiring signatures as requiredManage and maintain various data management systemsPrepare and clean glassware required for sample analysisPerform routine sample preparation and analyses employing ICP, GC, Oxygen Bomb Calorimiter and other instrumentationReport analysis results and coordinate with production personnelMaintain accurate analysis, maintenance, and production recordsAssist other facility operators as needed,



provide technical assistance to customers via site visits, sampling and assisting with the classification of waste materialsPerform general laboratory and facility housekeeping dutiesComplete Certificates of Disposal and Summaries of Analysis as requiredReview analytical reports and ensure that outgoing materials meet disposal site parametersAssemble and disassemble lab packsBulking / blending of small quantity waste chemicalsPrepare and clean glassware required for sample analysisAssist with the coding and shipments of Lab-Pack materialsProvide assistance in Emergency Spill Response (ER)Knowledge, Skills and Competencies:Environmental or Chemical Engineering Technician or Technologist of related DiplomaPrevious lab, sales and industry experience is an assetCompetent computer skills (MS Windows and Office)Must be safety conscious and detail orientedAbility to follow procedures and work with minimal supervisionWilling to work overtime, and continental shift workKnowledge of TDG, Reg. 347 and Ontario Health and Safety Act an asset#GFLTalent
