Support children and adolescents through mental health counselling and outreach services as a Casual Hospital Community Outreach Counsellor in Abbotsford, B.C.

Fraser Health seeks a counsellor for its CYYA Mental Health and Substance Use Services Transition Team. The position provides one-to-one and group counselling, crisis intervention, and client- and family-centered care. Work follows trauma-informed and evidence-informed practice within a multidisciplinary setting.

Key Responsibilities:

- Assess client behaviour, emotional status, and mental status
- Provide individual and group counselling to children and adolescents
- Triage referrals and implement treatment plans
- Facilitate community services, programs, appointments, and outreach




- Maintain client records, progress notes, and reports

Requirements:

- Baccalaureate degree in Child and Youth Care or Social Work
- One year recent related experience with children and youth
- Valid B.C. Driver’s License and personal vehicle
- Knowledge of child and adolescent mental health issues
- Solid conflict resolution and problem-solving skills
