Plan meaningful resident programs at Extendicare using compassionate communication and activity coordination. This role supports daily recreation services within long-term care.

Reporting to the Recreation Manager, the Recreation Aide assists with planning, organizing, and implementing programs for residents. The position collaborates with the Recreation Manager and Executive Director while considering residents' interests. Duties include activities, outings, records, communication, and occasional meal services.

Key Responsibilities:

- Plan and implement meaningful resident recreation programs
- Prepare, deliver, and evaluate daily activities
- Facilitate scheduled and pre-arranged resident outings
- Maintain assessments, evaluations, participation records,



and charting
- Communicate events with residents, families, volunteers, and staff

Requirements:

- College diploma in Recreation, Leisure Studies, or Gerontology
- Previous experience working with seniors
- Microsoft Office proficiency, including Word and Excel
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Valid provincial driver's license and Vulnerable Sector Check
